We teach swimming from scratch
Groups for children and adults close to home - in 15 pools across Tallinn and Viimsi.
We teach children and adults to swim, raise young athletes and make swimming accessible to those who cannot afford it.
Our mission
For every child in Tallinn to feel confident in the water, and for swimming to become their sport and their team for life.
The club was founded in 2021 as an MTÜ, an Estonian nonprofit association (registry code 80596461). Under its statutes, the club's purposes are to bring together people who practise water sports and to develop and promote water sports. The club is charitable and acts in the public interest. It has no owners who take profits: everything the club earns goes back into training, coaches and children.
The club is a member of Eesti Ujumisliit, the Estonian Swimming Federation.

Competitive groups that race at swimming meets across Estonia.
Bars Swim Cup is a meet for children, where many of them race for the very first time.
Training sessions and life as a team.
Children's training follows a hobby education curriculum: the club is entered in EHIS, the Estonian education register, as a hobby education provider (huvikool). This gives parents confidence in the programme and lets the club receive support from the city.
Every six months, together with the Tallinn Social Welfare and Health Care Department (Tallinna Sotsiaal- ja Tervishoiuamet), we take two children from Tallinna Lastekodu into free training. That is 4 children a year who learn to swim alongside everyone else.
The club is named after the snow leopard ("bars" in Russian), a rare and endangered big cat. Every year for International Snow Leopard Day (23 October) we run a campaign: part of the money from training contracts goes to snow leopard protection through SA Lutreola, a species conservation foundation that passes it on to the international Snow Leopard Trust.
The club is funded by training fees and by support from the City of Tallinn and the state. This money is spent on running the club:
